Write Less, Achieve More: The Art of Prioritizing for Success
Imagine Luke Skywalker, dedicating all his time to mastering his lightsaber skills, but never learning the ways of the Force.
He'd be nothing more than an extravagant glow stick dancer at a cosmic party, instead of the galaxy's savior.
You don't want to end up like that, do you?
Stacking skills without purpose is like building a sandcastle at high tide – it just won't last.
So let's dive into something more meaningful today.
You've probably seen this quote tossed around on Twitter, especially in the money and writing circles:
"Write every day."
It's sound advice, and with a few snazzy quotes and lists added, it could be a real tweet magnet.
But here's the scoop:
it's only true for beginners, say, in the first 8-10 months of their journey.
To make a living writing on the internet, you'll eventually need to tackle tasks that push your boundaries:
Sales
Marketing
Networking
Cold outreach
I've been there too.
I'd beat myself up if I didn't clock in for my daily writing sessions.
I felt like Rocky Balboa, face down on the mat after a knockout punch from Apollo Creed.
But that mindset slowed my progress – by months.
To triumph, you must sometimes let go of those writing sessions and focus on the day's game-changing tasks.
So, I have a question for you:
What tasks are you putting off, even though you know they're essential for your success?
Is it reaching out to potential agency owners for work?
Searching for clients?
Hand-copying sales pages?
Whatever it is, make it your top priority.
Dedicate at least 10 minutes a day to build momentum. I'm not saying to abandon writing altogether – just adjust your focus a tad.
Now, get to work and make some magic happen!
